Color Matching Kit

The secret to a truly invisible wood repair.

Achieve a seamless, professional finish by tinting your epoxy filler to perfectly match the color of the surrounding wood. This kit contains four pure, dry-powder pigments—the building blocks for creating virtually any shade of natural wood, from light tan to rich brown and grey. Because these are dry pigments, they are fully compatible with Smith & Co. epoxy systems, ensuring the chemistry and strength of your repair are never compromised.

What’s included:

  • Red Dry Powder Pigment

  • Yellow Dry Powder Pigment

  • Black Dry Powder Pigment

  • White Dry Powder Pigment

  • Instructions and color combination guide

What it’s for:

  • Coloring epoxy wood fillers (such as Fill-It™) to match existing wood grain.

  • Creating custom shades for repairing furniture, window sills, trim, decks, or log homes.

  • Concealing repairs in architectural woodwork or decorative elements.

  • Ensuring a consistent, natural base color before applying stains or topcoats.

Why it works:

  • Guaranteed Compatibility: Engineered as a dry powder system to ensure perfect chemical compatibility with Smith & Co. epoxies, unlike universal liquid concentrates which can compromise the cure.

  • Unlimited Color Palette: These four base pigments can be blended in various combinations to create an infinite spectrum of natural wood tones.

  • Permanent & Stable Color: The inorganic mineral pigments are colorfast and UV-stable, ensuring your repair will not fade or change color over time.

  • Professional Finish: Empowers you to achieve a truly professional, invisible repair that blends perfectly with the original wood.

Easy Mixing Process:

  • 1. Mix Epoxy: Prepare your two-part epoxy filler or adhesive on a clean surface as instructed.

  • 2. Add Pigment: Introduce a very small amount of the dry powder pigment(s) to the mixed epoxy. A little goes a long way.

  • 3. Blend & Match: Mix thoroughly until the color is uniform. Continue adding tiny amounts of pigment until the shade matches your wood.

  • 4. Apply: Once the color is matched, apply your tinted epoxy to complete the repair.

Achieve flawless repairs that only you know are there.
